What to expect from an early education course in Darwin or NT

Whether you are a recent high school graduate or are currently working full-time and looking for a career change, there are myriad course options to choose from that best suit your learning needs. These include:

Certificate III

A Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care takes around 12 months to complete. This is the best option for those keen to learn on the job. Complete a Certificate III as part of a traineeship to work while studying part-time.

Diploma

A Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is the next step after a Certificate III. Taking around 12 months to complete, the Diploma provides deeper learning around early childhood education and development, and sets educators on a pathway to leadership roles.

A University Degree

Charles Darwin University offers a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, a four-year degree when undertaken full-time. Many other universities in Australia also offer courses online. Since 2021, the Australian Government has cut student fees for education degrees by up to 75%, making degrees more accessible for all interested.
